Orange TV adds AMC Networks’ AMC+ on-demand content service to its portfolio and strengthens its position as a premium content aggregator

Orange Spain's television platform will be the first to feature this service in the country beginning in June

Madrid, 11 May 2022. Orange has reached an agreement with AMC Networks International Southern Europe (AMCNISE) to offer AMC+ on-demand content for the first time in Spain. The service will be available to all subscribers with access to Orange TV's entertainment offering from this June.

AMC+ is a premium subscription video on demand (SVOD) service that will be offered by Orange as a content aggregator and which delivers an exclusive catalogue of critically-acclaimed dramas, epic fan-favorite franchises, iconic mysteries and true crime series, original comedies, the best horror content and new and popular films and series from the U.S., Britain and beyond. The launch of AMC+ in Orange TV is accompanied by the premiere of original series such as gritty crime drama 61st Street, high-octane vampire series Firebite, critically-acclaimed psychological thriller Too Close, and the all-star stop-motion animated comedy Ultra City Smiths. It will be followed later this year by the debut of highly anticipated productions such as new series in The Walking Dead Universe and the launch of a new franchise based on Anne Rice's best-selling novels.

This agreement deepens the partnership between the two companies, through which Orange TV distributes 15 AMCNISE linear channels on its platform, as well as the AMC Selekt service and now also AMC+.

Regarding this announcement, Ignacio García-Legaz, Managing Director of Orange TV, has commented that "the launch of AMC+ allows us to include iconic and renowned series, strengthening our offering of film and series for all of our subscribers and consolidating Orange TV as one of the most varied and extensive content aggregation platforms on the Spanish audiovisual market, with options and genres for all tastes."

Manuel Balsera, Managing Director of AMCNISE: "We are delighted to launch in Spain AMC+ alongside Orange, one of our main partners. Subscribers will be able to enjoy a catalogue of thousands of hours of thrilling stories in a unique line-up of essential series and films and exclusive premieres."

Miquel Penella, President of Streaming Services for AMC Networks, said, "This launch highlights the growing demand for AMC+ and the ground-breaking storytelling featured on its premium slate of original programming. From signature dramas and wildly original comedies to acclaimed films, mysteries and documentaries, compelling true crime series and the best horror content, AMC+ is the ultimate destination for fans of quality entertainment. We are excited to partner with Orange to offer the service to their customers in Spain."

As with all other AMCNISE content, AMC+ titles will also be available in HD or 4K and on all compatible devices (smartphone, tablet, Smart TV and PC).

With this move, Orange TV has taken another step towards becoming one of the most varied and extensive content aggregation platforms on the Spanish audiovisual market, with options and genres for all tastes that can be enjoyed wherever and whenever the subscriber wants. Its partnerships with leading national and international media providers enable it to constantly add new content to its portfolio.
