Combined Proximity and Ambient Light Sensing in One Package
Fort Worth, Texas - August 2, 2021 - TTI, Inc., a leading specialty distributor of electronic components, is now stocking the RPR-0521RS family of reflective object sensors from Rohm Semiconductor. These sensors are targeted for specialty infrared sensing applications such as medical instruments, industrial and manufacturing automation, safety and security equipment.
Rohm's RPR-0521RS is a module which integrates optical proximity, digital ambient light sensing IC and an infrared LED. Proximity sensor part detects the human or object caused by the reflection of the infrared light. The ambient light sensor detects the wide range of illumination from the dark environment to direct sunlight. The illumination intensity of LCD displays the keypad can be adjusted by using RPR-0521RS. It enables lowering the current consumption and improving visibility in a bright environment. Designed for compatibility to I2C bus interface and 1.8V logic interface. Detection range of proximity sensor is 1 - 100mm, adjustable by I2C drive circuitry.
