NYLPI and eight other groups filed an amicus brief in the Southern District of New York on Friday, April 12, 2024.

The amicus brief, written by Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP, supports theunderlying litigationbetween the plaintiff disability rights groups, including Taxi for All Campaign, United Spinal Association, 504 Democratic Club, andDisabled in Action, against the Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) and New York City.

The TLC, which earlier agreed make 50% of yellow taxis accessible, recently asked the Court to release it from its settlement obligations. As all New Yorkers deserve accessible transportation, plaintiffs are fighting to keep the TLC bound to the settlement.
