New collective agreement for members in the Office municipal d’habitation de Saint-Jérôme

[Link] Employees of the Office municipal d'habitation de Saint-Jérôme in the Lower Laurentians region have signed their new collective agreement.

On November 11, 2021, the 18 outside and inside workers ratified the tentative agreement reached by the parties.

This five-year agreementcontains significant gains for members, including in particular, tighter anniversary dates for vacation credit increments and greater leeway in managing their schedules.

Further to the official signing that took place on February 9, union members will be paid a lump sum when the agreement is signed and will be entitled to an experience bonus after five, ten and fifteen years' seniority. Several clauses in the agreement were clarified and improved.

"The bargaining committee of CUPE4526 is proud and happy to have negotiated this new contract. Both sides made several gains in various areas, which were fair to both parties," said Nathalie Lapointe, president of CUPE4526.

"Negotiations were both productive and respectful. I believe we have the basis for sustainable peace where everyone will come out ahead, particularly the residents of the OMHde Saint-Jérôme," said Carl Prud'homme, treasurer of CUPE4526.
