Today, Morgan State University became the seventh university to offer students access to Netflix Pathways Bootcamp-no-cost, fully-online boot camp programs in cutting-edge tech fields. Offered in partnership with 2U, Netflix, and leading Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) around the country, the Netflix Pathways Bootcamp brings higher education and industry together to help diversify and accelerate the careers of the next generation of tech leaders.
"Affording Morgan students access to enrichment opportunities beyond our curricula and classroom instruction, in addition to offering 1:1 mentorship with seasoned tech professionals is invaluable," says Hongtao Yu, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president of Academic Affairs at Morgan State. "Industry-relevant training workshops, like Netflix Pathways Bootcamp, are crucial in cultivating diverse talent and advancing critical skills for students pursuing careers in the highly competitive technology jobs market-Morgan is pleased to be among the institutions currently offering this very beneficial training program."
Starting August 2022, part-time boot camps in software development and data science will be offered to Morgan State juniors and seniors in eligible majors. Those who complete the 16-week course will receive credit upon completion of the program.
Applications for Morgan State's Netflix Pathways Bootcamp Fall 2022 programs, including the Advanced Data Science Boot Camp and Advanced Java Boot Camp, are now open through 11:59 p.m. EST on May 6, 2022.
