Virginia ABC Moving Richmond-Area Enforcement Offices to Hanover County

The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) is transitioning its region six Bureau of Law Enforcement office in North Chesterfield and the licensee cashier's office in Richmond to the newly constructed ABC headquarters in Hanover County, which is expected to open for in-person visits later this month. During the transition, ABC special agents and staff will continue to provide support to licensees and answer questions.

The region six enforcement office located at 7400 Beaufont Springs Drive, Suite 101 at the Boulders II office complex in North Chesterfield will close for in-person visits on Friday, June 11 at 5 p.m. Licensees are encouraged to reach out to their special agent directly by phone or email or call the region six office, which will continue to take calls at 804-213-4620. This office provides guidance to the region's licensees and license applicants regarding Virginia's alcohol laws and regulations. The region includes Richmond, Colonial Heights, Petersburg and Hopewell, and the counties of Amelia, Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Henrico, New Kent, Nottoway, Powhatan and Prince George.

The licensee cashier's office located inside ABC's central office at 2901 Hermitage Road in Richmond will also close for in-person visits on Friday, June 11 at 5 p.m. This office processes licensee payments for permits.

Residents can apply for one-day banquet and special event licenses online, and businesses can download a retail license application at www.abc.virginia.gov. Licensees and individuals who require in-person assistance can visit ABC's new administrative headquarters located at 7450 Freight Way in Mechanicsville beginning the week of June 14.

Last month, ABC's region five office in Fredericksburg closed to transition to the headquarters in Hanover County. That region includes Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, Essex, Goochland, Hanover, King & Queen, King George, King William, Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, Spotsylvania, Stafford and Westmoreland.
