Participation of Tajikistan delegation in the Fourth Asia-Pacific Water Summit

On April 23, 2022, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharaf Sheralizoda and the Head of the Secretariat of the Second International High-Level Conference dedicated to the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" (6 - 9 June, 2022 in Dushanbe) Sulton Rahimzoda took part in the opening ceremony of the Fourth Asia-Pacific Water Summit, which is ongoing in Kumamoto, Japan.

The event was opened by the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, and the Emperor of Japan Naruhito, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the heads of state and government of Indonesia, the Philippines, Nauru, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, Cambodia, Tuvalu, Laos, Bhutan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Thailand, Niue, Marshall Islands, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan took part personally and online.

The Summit emphasized the importance of the United Nations Comprehensive Midterm Review of the Water Decade (22-24 March 2023, New York) in addressing global water issues, as well as the role of the Second High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" in its preparation.

The final document of Kumamoto reflected the promotion of the Dushanbe Water Process within the framework of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028", which was adopted taking into account the international initiatives of the Leader of the Nation to continue Tajikistan's activities in search of effective solutions to global problems.
