The President discussed the resumption of negotiations to demarcate southern maritime borders, with the National Defense Minister.

The Youth and Sports Minister conveyed, to President Aoun, the Armenian gratitude to Lebanon's stances, in support of the Armenian cause.

President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received Deputy Prime Minister and National Defense Minister, Mrs. Zeina Akar, today at the Presidential Palace.

The meeting addressed general affairs, in addition to the resumption of negotiations to demarcate southern maritime borders in light of the President's directives which were given to the negotiating delegation, during yesterday's meeting which took place at Baabda Palace, in the presence of Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun.

Minister Ohanian:

The President met Youth and Sports Minister, Vartinee Ohanian, after her return from Yerevan where she had represented Lebanon in the Armenian Genocide Memorial.

The Youth and Sports Minister said that she had conveyed the thanks of the Armenian government, to President Aoun, for participating in the occasion and the positions which Lebanon took towards Armenia, on various occasions.

Moreover, Minister Ohanian conveyed the greetings of Armenian President, Arman Sarkissian to President Aoun, stating that Armenian government officials, whom she had met during her visit, affirmed that Armenia stands by Lebanon and supports its people, especially in the current difficult circumstances. The Youth Minister also indicated that it was agreed to activate cooperation between Lebanon and Armenia, in multiple fields, in the interest of both peoples.
