This year's budget bill (A4402) includes $638 million for Christmas-tree items and increases year-over-year spending by 9%. During Gov. Phil Murphy's term, the annual state budget has ballooned by 46%. Despite taxpayers paying more than ever, spending still exceeds revenue by $250 million. The bill advanced to the governor's desk along party lines.
