MPD Arrests Several Suspects in Armed Carjacking in Mt. Vernon Square

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Third District announce the arrest of three suspects for an armed carjacking.

On March 28, at 11:38 p.m., Third District officers responded to the 600 block of M Street, Northwest, for the report of an armed carjacking. Officers learned that one of the suspects walked up to the driver side window, pointed a firearm and demanded the victim to exit the vehicle. The victim complied and all three suspects fled the scene with the vehicle. Third District Officers canvassed the area, along with MPD's helicopter. All three suspects were located and arrested. A gun was recovered on the scene.

On Thursday, March 28, 2024, a 15-year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, a 17-year-old juvenile male, and a 16 year-old juvenile male, both of Northwest, DC, were charged with Armed Carjacking.
