McCain Institute Announces 2024 Sedona Forum May 3-4 in Arizona

The McCain Institute's 2024 Sedona Forum will take place May 3 - 4 in Sedona, Arizona with the theme "Securing Our Insecure World." The international event convenes leaders in government, national security, human rights, media, and business to tackle the greatest threats to global stability, such as climate change, economic uncertainty, and the ongoing threat of nuclear war.

"Our world is reaching new and unprecedented levels of insecurity at the hands of autocrats and authoritarians," said McCain Institute Executive Director Dr. Evelyn Farkas. "Geopolitical instability, coupled with the effects of climate change, require us to take determined action. I'm confident that this year's participants and viewers will walk away more prepared than ever to uphold freedom, prosperity, and human rights worldwide."

Key speakers will include Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, U.S. Senators Kyrsten Sinema, Mark Kelly, and Todd Young, U.S. State Department Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs Roger Carstens, Founder of Lean In Sheryl Sandberg, world-renowned advocate against conflict-related sexual violence and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dr. Denis Mukwege, and more. Additional speakers and programming will be announced in the coming weeks.

"Always provocative and always informing, this year's Sedona Forum comes within the context of a critical national election focused, in part, on the health of our democracy and the benefit that comes from civil dialogue around complex public policy that involves divergent points of view," said ASU President Michael Crow. "We look forward to a healthy exchange of ideas and an informative weekend."

Inspired by the McCain family, the Sedona Forum is held each spring to advance the mission of the McCain Institute - fighting for democracy, human dignity, and security. As the McCain Institute's signature annual event, the Sedona Forum provides a unique opportunity for U.S. and world leaders to have informal, face-to-face discussions about real solutions to the problems facing our world today. This year's theme, "Securing Our Insecure World," will examine the greatest challenges to democracy, human rights, and global security and generate solutions for bringing stability to our increasingly insecure world.

Panels will be available to watch via livestream. To learn more about the event and register for the livestream, visit TheSedonaForum.org.
