Italy-USA cooperation project concluded in Washinghton

The Italy-USA cooperation project in which students from the Parentucelli-Arzelà di Sarzana Istituto d'Istruzione Superiore in La Spezia and Annapolis High School in Maryland took part in the 2021-2022 academic year has been concluded in Washington. Three grants were awarded to three exemplary Italian students who will spend three weeks at Annapolis High School in October 2002. The visit will be reciprocated in spring 2023 by three American students.

The ceremony setting the seal on the project took place at the Embassy of Italy in Washington. About 60 students from the Italian school and around ten students of Italian from Annapolis High School attended through a virtual link. 17 students of Italian from the Walt Whitman High School in Maryland attended in person. A further strand to the initiative is that the schools concerned and a second American high school have joined the fifth edition of the "Bridge the Pond" project supported by the European Parliament. By involving students, Bridge the Pond aims to close the gaps between different cultures.
