CABEI to commemorate Universal Information Access Day with high-level forum with renowned regional journalists

Tegucigalpa, September 22nd, 2021.- As part of the commemoration of the International Universal Information Access Day, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) will hold a high-level virtual forum entitled "Access to information as a guarantee for journalistic and investigative work" on September 27, from 2:00 - 3:15pm (Honduran time).

The event will be supported by the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA) and aims to reaffirm CABEI's commitment to transparency, openness and accountability, as well as to disseminate knowledge on the importance of the right of access to information as applied to the work of the media and journalists.

The activity will be inaugurated by CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, and moderated by IAPA President Ricardo Trotti, while renowned journalists Hugo Alconada Mon and Fabiola Torres will share their views on the challenges and opportunities offered by timely access to information in the region. Finally, Dr. Maximiliano Alonso, CABEI Director for Argentina and Colombia and President of the Bank's Access to Information Committee, will give the closing remarks.

Events such as this one promote the application of CABEI's Access to Information Policy, in force since XX, which has created greater openness, proactivity and predictability in the disclosure of its functions and activities, providing strong evidence of transparency in the management and execution of its operations.
