Employee Spotlight: Nadine Koch

Meet Nadine, Customer Service Representative (CSR) for Chelsea State Bank. Most who know Nadine know she has a flare for fashion and a ready smile for all she encounters. She also likes to joke about her age…but her customers only see a caring, loyal and classy woman who truly enjoys helping her customers.

"I have been with Chelsea State Bank for a little over 18 years," explains Nadine. "I was hired as a CSR and still have that position. I love working with the public and helping customers know the bank that I grew up with here in Chelsea. Yep, I'm old and so is this great bank!"

Research shows that if you have friends at work, you are more likely to be happier in your job. Nadine joined Chelsea State Bank with experience and many friendships. And she continues to make friends. "I had worked for several other banks before Chelsea State Bank, and I worked at Heydlauff's many years ago. I also worked for an environmental testing company for several years. I still keep in touch with many friends that I have made from past employments."

Family matters brought Nadine to work at Chelsea State Bank. "My mother had a stroke and she also had dementia. When I wanted to come back and work in this area, Chelsea State Bank was the first place that I applied. I happened to run into Jackie Schiller (retired Senior Vice President and current Board Member) and she asked me what I was doing. When I explained my situation, she said she would pass on my application. She did and I was hired a few weeks later. Today, my goal at Chelsea State Bank is to hopefully make every customer smile before they leave."

With a love for her job, Nadine wants the community to know that "CSB is a great bank, and it offers anything that other banks do. The employees and customers are what make CSB so great. When I win the lottery, I will invest money into CSB."

With a love for life, Nadine has many interests outside the office. "I like to do crafty things. I have made jewelry, wreaths and ornaments. I like to paint. I used to do craft shows. My biggest interest is doing hypnosis. I am a certified Hypnotherapist."

Nadine concludes, "Most of all, I love spending time with my family! Especially my Grand and Great Grandchildren. I have four kids, eight grandchildren, six great-grands. I am really lucky!"

• What is your favorite food? Hamburgers
• What is your favorite holiday, and why? Christmas in July. My family keeps growing and since there are so many sets of parents and grandparents, I gave up trying to get everyone together at Christmas time. So, I started doing Christmas in July with my family.
• TV show you can't miss. The Masked Singer, and Food Network.
• What area do you live in and for how long? I have lived more years in Chelsea than anywhere else. I grew up in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School.
