Golf Opens Spring Season at SEU

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State University women's golf team opens its spring action on Monday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 25 at the St. Edward's Women's Crosswind Golf Invitational, hosted by St. Edward's University.

Tournament Information
The tournament will take place at Onion Creek Country Club in Austin, Texas. It will be a shotgun start on Monday and Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. There will be a full field of 18 teams competing.
Last Time Out
The Belles last competed at the Skyhawk Women's Invitational hosted by Fort Lewis College. Anna Wiklund led the way for the Belles, tying for 15th in the tournament and recorded 10 pars, eight birdies, and a 156. Joselyn Jackson finished behind Wiklund with a 159, 20 pars, and one birdie. finished the tournament with 25 pars and a 163. tallied 21 pars and a 161. rounded out the ASU players with a 176, 11 pars, and one birdie.
Coach McCutchen's Comments:
'The girls have worked hard since coming back from Christmas break and are excited to be able to get into tournament play. The field is really strong with several top teams from the nation and our region.'
Key Players:
There will be five players representing Angelo State at the tournament, including Howard, Wiklund, , Jackson, and Tomlinson.
Howard finished the fall season with a 77.8 tournament scoring average. She shot a best round of 72 and had a career-best place finish of fifth.
Jackson finished in a tie for 10th at the WT Lady Buff Invitation. She averaged a score of 78 and shot a tournament low round score of 76.
Terry will see her first tournament of action on the season.
Wiklund competed in three tournaments in the fall and finished with a round low of 78 twice to finish with a 156 at the Fort Lewis Invitational. She tallied nine birdies and 18 pars to end the fall season.
Tomlinson competed in three tournaments in the fall with her highest place finish at the Oklahoma Invite, tying for 21st. She recorded a season-low score round of 77 and a season-low tournament score of 156. She finished the fall with 32 pars and one birdie.

Following the tournament on Monday and Tuesday, the Belles will travel to Wichita Falls, Texas, to compete in the MSU Texas Invitational hosted by Midwestern State University on Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17.
