Jakarta, 21/06/2021 MoF - The COVID-19 pandemic is still affect economic developments and the implementation of the 2021 State Budget. The government continues to encourage the momentum of economic recovery by continuing to be aware of the risk of COVID-19, which still creates high uncertainty.
'What has been done in several cities through the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) can make us learn how to control COVID-19, but in terms of socio-economic activities it can still be balanced,' said Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati during an online APBN KiTa (State Budget Facts Performance) press conference, Monday (21/06).
Several regions in Indonesia experienced a fairly high increase in COVID-19 cases. The daily cases of COVID-19 as of June 20, 2021 showed a total of 1,989,909 cases, a total of 54,662 deaths or 2.8%, a total recovery of 1,792,628 or 90.1%, and active cases of 142,719 or 7.1%.
The provinces in Java have been the main contributors of the increase in national COVID-19 cases, especially in the past week. 'This certainly has consequences because Java has a very large contribution to the economy so it will also affect our economic outlook. This is what will be the center of attention in these weeks that will affect the second quarter,' explained the Minister of Finance.
Thus, the Government continues to control the spread of COVID-19. This is done through a vaccination program which currently has reached 35.2 million doses with an average daily increase of 507,000 doses, implementation of Community Activity Restrictions, and health protocols discipline. (dj/mr/hpy)
