Workshop on Customs Valuation for Ethiopia

The World Customs Organization (WCO) organized, with the support of the Customs Cooperation Fund of China, a national workshop on Customs Valuation for the benefit of the Ethiopian Customs Commission (ECC). This workshop was held online from 29 November to 3 December 2021 and was attended by 32 Customs officials from different units within the ECC.

The five-day programme consisted of refresher sessions on the provisions of the WTO Customs Valuation Agreement and presentations on a number of key technical valuation topics such as transaction value, related party transactions, assists, royalties and licence fees, as well as relevant instruments adopted by the Technical Committee on Customs Valuation and Customs valuation control initiatives in the WCO Revenue Package.

The participants also had the opportunity to discuss a number of case studies to deepen their understanding of the WTO Customs Valuation Agreement with a view to applying the knowledge learned from the workshop in their daily work.
