Prevent Theft from Unlocked Vehicles

A message from the Warrington Township Police Department:

The Warrington Township Police Department are sharing some prevention tips for our community.

We are concerned about these thieves entering people's homes, burglarizing them and stealing their cars. You can help us by locking your cars and closing your windows. Prevent Theft from Unlocked Vehicles An unlocked vehicle is an easy target, and it only takes seconds for a thief to grab what's in plain sight, check the usual hiding places for other items and get away. Preventing theft from unlocked vehicles requires the participation of all Warrington Township residents.

To create awareness about this public safety issue, the Warrington Township Police Department would like to share some tips on What Warrington Residents can do to Prevent Being a Victim. Practice these Auto Protection tips every day:

  • ALWAYS lock all doors and close windows.
  • REMOVE any valuable items in your car. If you must leave them in your car, put them in the trunk where they are out of sight.
  • Park in locked garages if possible.
  • Set an alarm or anti-theft device.
  • REMOVE garage door remotes from vehicles.
