Giant Posters made of marine plastic

blowUP media launches Green Line OCEAN, a new, sustainable Giant Poster material

From March 2022, blowUP media will be offering advertising clients a new, sustainable product: Green Line OCEAN is an innovative Giant Poster material made from 100 percent recycled material, 10 percent of which is marine plastic. As part of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, plastic marine litter is collected from the ocean and coastlines and processed - together with PET post-consumer waste - into certified SEAQUAL® YARN. The manufacture of the Giant Poster material made from 100% SEAQUAL® YARN and the production of the Giant Posters both take place in Germany. This ensures short transport routes and avoids emissions. Green Line OCEAN saves 77 percent CO2 emissions compared to the standard product.

"Sustainability is a matter close to our hearts. After introducing the PVC-free Green Line Giant Posters in 2021, we have now been able to improve our products again. Our Green Line OCEAN saves valuable resources and helps to clean the seas. 1 kg of SEAQUAL® YARN reduces marine litter by 0.6 - 1 kg. For a 500 m2 Giant Poster, that's at least 55 kg of marine plastic," says Katrin Robertson, CEO of the blowUP media Group.

blowUP media is constantly working on making Giant Posters ever more environmentally friendly. The new Green Line poster material already saves around 80 percent of CO2 emissions through weight reduction and the use of recycling material. Since 2021, blowUP media has also been exclusively offering CO2-neutral Giant Posters. The emissions are compensated by the certified climate protection project "Germany Plus Green City".

SEAQUAL INITIATIVE - Together for a clean ocean
SEAQUAL INITIATIVE works with NGOs, fishermen, authorities and local communities to help clean our oceans. Marine litter from our beaches, ocean floor and surface, rivers and estuaries, is collected by clean-up programs. It is then sorted into different material types and the plastic portion is cleaned and transformed into SEAQUAL® MARINE PLASTIC. Manufacturers certified by the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE produce the high-tech yarn SEAQUAL® YARN from the collected waste, which is then processed by companies in numerous industries into sustainable products.
