Today, House Democrats took action to secure the right to vote with the passage of H.R. 4: Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019. The legislationrestores core tenets of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and expandsprotections for all voters. DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos released the following statement:
'Democrats in Congress have taken action to ensure every American's right to vote is protected with the passage of the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019 (H.R. 4). This historic action recognizes the inequitiespeople of color, rural and young voters face at the ballot box by restoring and expanding measures to end voter suppressionand discrimination.
'Countless Americans have sacrificed their lives to protect our most precious responsibility as citizens - exercisingthe right to vote.
