What is a Law of Nature?

Science makes constant reference to the laws of nature. But what exactly is a law of nature?
What kind of existence do laws have, and where do they come from? Or do laws really exist at all?

This lecture will provide an overview of perspectives on these questions within contemporary philosophy of science, and also discuss how they might relate back to theological issues.
