Carter Appointed to Second Term on Select Committee on Climate Change

Congressman Earl L. 'Buddy' Carter (R-Ga.) has been appointed by Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Ca.) to serve a second term on the Select Committee on Climate Change.

'I asked to join this select committee because climate change is real and the need to protect our environment is real,' said Carter. 'Congress needs to work together in a bipartisan fashion to create solutions to address climate change that are realistic, market-based and will actually have an impact on climate change. I am glad to serve on this committee again this Congress because we still have a lot of work to do. I urge my colleagues in the majority on this committee to work with us this Congress to deliver results for the American people. We can address climate change with proposals that will create jobs instead of killing them.'

'Since arriving in Congress, Representative Buddy Carter has fought for a commonsense energy approach that benefits his constituents in Georgia, our country, and the world's climate,' said Leader McCarthy. 'As a returning member of the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, Rep. Carter has already proven his ability to formulate innovative solutions that counter climate change, and I am confident that his return to the committee will be instrumental in continuing their progress as we move forward in the 117th Congress.'

The Select Committee on the Climate Crisis is a bipartisan panel tasked with examining the causes and impacts of climate change. Carter also serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Budget Committee.
