Sangeetha Ramanan Joins HDR as Managing Principal for Western Canada’s Architecture Studios

Sangeetha Ramanan, Architect AAA, AIBC, MRAIC, LEED Green Associate, EDAC, has joined HDR as managing principal for Western Canada's architecture studios, including 4 studios across British Columbia and Alberta.

In her role, Ramanan will collaborate with principals, sector and operations leaders, business development leaders, designers, and other managing principals to provide the highest level of quality and service to our staff and clients. She will focus on all aspects of delivery and design excellence, working with clients and partners to strengthen relationships across Canada and HDR globally.

Over Ramanan's career, she has worked across a broad range of building typologies, recently focusing on healthcare as a clinical planner and contributing to a multitude of projects in British Columbia and Alberta. As evidence of her commitment to excellence, she received an Outstanding Service Award for Pandemic Response as part of the capital management team at Alberta Health Services for the period 2021-2022.

"As a South Asian woman and mother, my passion as an architect lies in creating spaces that foster inclusivity, sustainability and well-being. Ultimately, my passion for architecture stems from the belief that well-designed spaces have the power to enhance lives, foster connections, and create a better world for all," Ramanan said. "I am very excited to be joining the team at HDR to help to create our vision of the future together."

Ramanan holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Carleton University and is a registered architect with the Alberta Association of Architects, the Architectural Institute of British Columbia, and a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
