Public Schedule for FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh will be in Washington, D.C., to talk to lawmakers about H.R.1797, a bill that would enact a safety standard on all lithium-ion batteries used in micro- mobility devices.

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the Commissioner will attend the World Fire Congress and speak at a panel titled "Fire Risk of Emerging Technology." She will discuss the fire threat of lithium-ion batteries and FDNY response to this growing issue.
