Adeeb Khalifeh, MD, Appointed Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine

Adeeb Khalifeh, MD, FACOG, has been appointed Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Einstein Healthcare Network.

Dr. Khalifeh treats high-risk pregnancy patients, including those with diabetes, heart disease, and fetal abnormalities. He established the Diabetes in Pregnancy Management Program at Einstein with the goal of providing optimized coordinated care to patients with diabetes during pregnancy and improving pregnancy outcomes. Since it started in 2017, the program successfully incorporated telemedicine - years before this model of care came into widespread use during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to his work in the area of caring for patients with diabetes, Dr. Khalifeh focuses his practice on prenatal diagnosis and counseling patients on complex issues arising in pregnancy.

"Dr. Khalifeh is committed to continuing our efforts to enhance access to high-risk obstetrical care," says David Jaspan, DO, Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Einstein Healthcare Network. "He is driven to providing an evidence-based approach to care that incorporates our patients and their families in shared decision making."

In 2017, Dr. Khalifeh joined Einstein as an attending physician in maternal fetal medicine, and in 2019, he was appointed Associate Chair of Maternal Fetal Medicine.

He is an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals. Dr. Khalifeh has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed medical papers, many of which pertain to diabetes in pregnancy.

Dr. Khalifeh earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, Pa. He continued his training and completed his fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals.
