Russian corona vaccine shipped to India in va-Q-tainers

The Corona wave in India is still considered one of the worst outbreaks since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition to various oxygen supplies, vaccines are the most important means of combating the further spread of the virus. The vaccines produced in the country are far from enough; in some cases, production in India had to be stopped due to a lack of raw materials. Therefore, more and more vaccines are now being transported from Russia to India - in thermal containers from va-Q-tec (va-Q-tainers) at a constant and reliable temperature. For example, an aid shipment of about 10 million vaccine doses was recently shipped in 36 va-Q-tainers from Moscow, Russia to Hyderabad, India. This transport required temperatures between -30 °C and -40 °C - a challenge for such a long-distance transport in different climate zones over a long period of time. The innovative solutions from va-Q-tec are predestined for temperature-controlled logistics due to their particularly high performance in terms of temperature ranges and holding times for such challenging transports.

In order to transport the vaccines to their destination in the best possible quality, they must be transported at under -30 °C. This temperature chain must be maintained. If this temperature chain is interrupted, the vital pharmaceuticals lose their effectiveness or even become ineffective. A challenge, after all, is the temperature inside the containers must be kept constant in both the cool, continental climate of Russia and the hot steppe climate in India. Unforeseen delays, for example due to flight cancellations, must always be expected.

The high-performance containers of va-Q-tec are the optimal solution for this. By insulating the container walls with vacuum insulation panels (VIPs), even extreme outdoor temperatures are kept from the valuable cargo inside. Special temperature storage elements (PCMs) ensure optimum temperature control inside. The combination of these two technologies enables them to maintain temperatures between -70 °C and +25 °C for several days without an external energy supply.
