PM Krivokapić meets with President of Poland Andrzej Duda

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić hosted President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda in Villa Gorica.

Prime Minister Krivokapić welcomed the Polish President, saying that his visit was symbolic, because this year the two countries are marking 15 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. The Prime Minister thanked for the continuous support in the field of EU integration that Poland provides to our country from the beginning of the reform and integration processes, especially within the Visegrad Group, through which Poland gives support to the entire Western Balkans.

The Prime Minister pointed out that Montenegro especially appreciates the fact that Poland, during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, through the NATO Cooperation Mechanism, donated valuable medical equipment to Montenegro, as well as 40 thousand doses of Pfizer- BioNTech vaccine. Also, Prime Minister Krivokapić expressed immense gratitude for the donation of 60 thousand vaccines that President Duda and his wife brought to Montenegro.

Emphasising that the Government of Montenegro has managed to achieve the highest economic growth in Europe, PM Krivokapić briefed the President of Poland on the Government's initiative to implement more sustainable, environmentally friendly projects, as well as the Europe Now project, which aims to reduce social differences.

The Prime Minister of Montenegro emphasised that he sees the visit of the President of Poland as a confirmation of the excellent political relations between the two countries, which should be used to strengthen economic cooperation. The Prime Minister pointed out that he was pleased that Montenegro was an increasingly interesting tourist destination among Polish tourists, and that the enhancement of cooperation in that area would be extremely important for our country.

Poland's President Andrzej Duda pointed out that it is a great honor for him to have the opportunity to be the first Polish President to pay an official visit to a friendly country, 15 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

I am happy that my wife and I brought 60 thousand doses of vaccine and I hope that it will strengthen our friendship, said Duda.

The Polish President emphasised that Poland supports Montenegro's European path.

Poland sincerely and friendly supports Montenegro's path to full EU membership, said the President of Poland.

Duda pointed out that Poles gladly come to the region of the Western Balkans, adding that it is a great chance for the Montenegrin economy.

Our citizens travel to Montenegro more and more often, said President Duda.
