Program Allows Parking Tickets To Be Paid With A School Supply Donation For a Limited Time

Program To Run From May 1 Through June 14, 2024

Qualifying parking tickets in the city of Las Vegas issued between May 1 and June 14, 2024, may be satisfied with donations of school supplies. Any supplies taken in by the city through the program will be donated to the PEF Teacher Superstore, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that is associated with the Public Education Foundation.

Those who have a parking infraction in the city of Las Vegas between May 1 and June 14, 2024, may satisfy their tickets by bringing new, unwrapped school supplies of equal or greater value of their fine to the Parking Services Offices at 350 S. City Parkway within 30 days of their citation date. A purchase receipt for the donation is required.

In July of 2016, the City Council adopted an ordinance authorizing the establishment of this occasional program allowing for charitable donations in lieu of payment for parking fines as amended on Feb. 1, 2023, allowing the program to be administratively approved by the city manager.

Qualifying citations include, overtime meter, restricted time zone, abandoned vehicle, commercial vehicle/tour buses only, bus or taxi zone, loading/unloading zone, registration not displayed, parked after park hours, taking two spaces and vehicle parked more than 72 hours. Other citations may also be eligible.
