Weekly Construction Update

The following is the proposed work to be performed on assigned construction projects:

Sherwood Way Repaving Project

  • Milling and seal coating and hot mix operations are ongoing.
  • Expect lanes closure in both directions and only one lane open on eastbound and westbound lane.
  • 11-foot width restriction is in place from southbound frontage road to FM 2288.
  • Please slow down and watch for flagman's directions.

Construct Interchange
Limits: Tractor Trail and PaulAnn Boulevard

  • Contractor will be pouring walls for cast in place retaining wall near PaulAnn northbound frontage road and placing MSE wall panels southbound frontage road.
  • Contractor is placing embankment and flex-base on the new northbound and southbound frontage road and at Ramp E.
  • Contractor will be placing concrete pavement on Tractor Trail and PaulAnn Boulevard frontage roads on both sides.
  • Frontage road going northbound at Tractor Trail is closed. Alternate route will be Tractor Trail going eastbound along County Road.
  • Frontage road going southbound at Tractor Trail is closed. Alternate route will be Morgan Trail going westbound behind UPS and ATD along County Road.
  • Tractor Trail by John Deere entrance has a 10-foot lane restriction. We will be switching traffic to Coverlay business side on Tractor Trail.
  • Please slow down for cross traffic at Tractor Trail and Paul Ann/Howard College intersections.
  • PaulAnn Boulevard is closed at southbound frontage road and main lane US 67 Westside.

South Loop 306 Asphalt Concrete Overlay
Limits: 2.13 miles north of US 87 to US 67

  • Contractor will be closing southbound exit from Loop 306 to southbound US 67 and US 277. Exit at northbound 306 to FM 380 and follow detour for access to southbound US 67 and US 277.
  • Contractor also be milling and filling southbound left lanes on Loop 306 from FM 380 to the south. Expect ramp closure on FM 388 on and exit ramps.
  • Expect overnight lane and ramp closures throughout the project.

US 87 Asphalt Pavement Repair
Limits: SL 570 north of Wall to Concho County line

  • Contractor almost finished and will be cleaning up project.
  • Contractor will be cleaning up project.

SH 158 Midland County Line to US 87 ACP Overlay

  • Contractor will be opening up to full roadway in this section of roadway on SH 158 from SH 137 to Midland county line.
  • Contractor will work patches on SH 158 from US 87 to Garden City. Expect day time lane closure and delays.
  • Please slow down.
  • Speed Reduced to 65 mph.
  • A 12-foot width restriction is in place on SH 158 from Midland County line to Sterling County line at US 87.

US 277 from SH 70 to North Kickapoo Creek Bridge, Restoration of Existing Road

  • Contractor will be surveying and offsetting centerline.
  • Contractor will be milling roadway and patching northbound lane from SH 70 to Bronte, TX. In this area there will be pilot car operations.
  • 11-foot width restriction is in place for 8.25 miles.

Guard Rail Upgrades
Limits: RM 2469 from US 67 to SH 163, various location on US 83 and US 277

  • Contractor working on Meckel Draw on Southbound US 277. Expect northbound shoulder closure. Contractor will be upgrading bridge with new concrete rail.

Bridge Preventive Maintenance Project
Limits: Varies locations in Tom Green and Coke counties

  • Underneath Ben Ficklin Bridge on Loop 306 expect a lane closure during daylight.

Upgrade Small Signs at Crossovers
Limits: US 87, US 67, SL 306 and US 83

  • Contractor will be drilling and installing sign base and mounting new signs at various locations along US 87 North, US 87 South, US 67 North and US 83.

Foster Bridge and Loop 306 Resurfacing Roadway

  • Contractor will be cleaning project.

RM 853Bridge Replacement
Limits: Brushy Creek

  • Contractor is cleaning up project.

Tom Green County Maintenance
Limits: Tom Green County

  • Sign maintenance, county wide.
  • Debris pick up and pothole repair county wide.
  • Edge repairs on FM 388.
  • Base repairs on FM 765.

TxDOT urges motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit signs, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel. While TxDOT strives to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions and activities, circumstances beyond our control may occasionally cause schedule changes. We appreciate the driving public's patience as we make improvements.
