Lewis Brisbois Promotes Cybersecurity Partner to Lead Compliance Advisory Services as Practice Vice Chair

New York, N.Y. (July 7, 2022) - Lewis Brisbois' Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice has promoted New York Partner Sarah L. Rugnetta to vice chair to lead its compliance advisory services. Ms. Rugnetta is a former privacy officer and regulator, and over the past 15 years has developed extensive experience providing compliance advisory services in data privacy, health law, regulatory compliance, and risk management. As vice chair, she will help manage a rapidly increasing caseload of compliance advisory services.

Ms. Rugnetta works closely with the attorneys and administrative personnel who comprise the "Compliance Advisory Team" within the larger Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. This team works with clients to develop and implement business-oriented strategies to reduce cybersecurity risks and improve compliance with data privacy and security laws and regulations. Examples of services include policy and procedure development, incident response planning, tabletop exercises, privacy and security risk assessments, third party contract review, and negotiation.

Ms. Rugnetta obtained her law degree from the University of Buffalo Law School, cum laude, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Lawrence University, cum laude. She is licensed to practice in New York and Vermont.
