NFH Earns 6th Leapfrog Grade A keyboard_arrow_right

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital (NFH) received an "A" Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, for the 6th consecutive time for spring 2022. This national distinction recognizes NFH's achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error in the hospital.

"The patient is always at the center of our care, and our 6th consecutive Leapfrog Grade 'A' demonstrates our commitment to the safety of our patients and the quality of our care," said C. Eric Lawson, NFH Chief Executive Officer. "Our consistent focus on this imperative has earned us the highest patient safety grade honor in the nation, which we are tremendously proud to announce on Hospital Week. Thank you to all of the incredible healthcare workers at NFH for always putting our patients first, and for caring for our community like family."

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an "A," "B," "C," "D," or "F" grade to general hospitals across the country based on over thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
