Final stage of Combat Commonwealth exercise of the CIS Joint Regional Air Defence System takes place at Ashuluk training ground

Within the framework of the event, various tactical episodes were practiced on the organization of the joint use of coalition aviation groups and air defence forces of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

At the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region, the main episode of the active phase of the Combat Commonwealth exercise of the CIS Joint Regional Air Defence System ended.

Within the framework of the event, various tactical episodes were practiced on the organization of the joint use of coalition aviation groups and air defence forces of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

During the exercise, the units practiced the tasks of ensuring control of the air situation in the protected area, tracking targets and issuing target designations to anti-aircraft missile units, which, in a difficult jamming environment, destroyed about 20 high-altitude, low-altitude and ballistic targets in the entire range of heights and speeds using S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems , S-300 Favorite, Pechora-2M, Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun systems.

The event also involved the crews of Tu-22M3 long-range bombers, Su-34 short-range bombers, Su-30SM multipurpose fighter jet, as well as Su-25SM, Su-24MR, Su-27, MiG-29SMT, Yak-130 aircraft.

During live-fire drills stage at the Ashuluk training ground, more than 10 different anti-aircraft missile systems were deployed, more than 50 anti-aircraft guided missiles, about 100 bombs and ammunition were used.

Combat Commonwealth 2019 exercise involves military personnel from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The next stage of the exercise will take place from September 9 to 13 in Kazakhstan, where practical training will be conducted on the control of the coalition group of aviation and air defence forces at the Sary-Shagan training ground during the preparation and during the hostilities in the Central Asian region of joint security to repel massive missile and aviation strike with the conduct of live firing of their anti-aircraft missile systems and the use of tactical aircraft of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
