Attention Off-Highway and Powerplant Industry Professionals: Nominate Someone for the 2019 SAE/AEM Outstanding Young Engineer Award

Do you know of an exceptional young engineer who is on the rise and poised to lead the way to a bright future for their industry? Nominate them for the 2019 SAE/AEM Outstanding Young Engineer Award.

Established in 1996, this award recognizes outstanding young engineers in the off-highway or powerplant industry. Qualified candidates should be nominated by their managers, with the nomination supported by an SAE member.

'If you are an engineering manager, please consider nominating a worthy candidate for the SAE/AEM Outstanding Young Engineer Award,' said AEM Senior Director of Technical and Safety Services Mike Pankonin. 'This is a great opportunity to recognize young talent for their contributions. Rewarding them for their efforts will only lead to greater success and encourage others who will to strive for the same recognition.'

Nominees for the 2019 SAE/AEM Outstanding Young Engineer Award should:

  • Be a degreed engineer from the off-highway or powerplant industry
  • Have less than 10 years of industry experience

Candidates for the award will be judged based on their exemplary demonstration of:

  • Innovation
  • Leadership
  • Teamwork
  • Integrity
  • Community involvement
  • Leaders

The award consists of a framed certificate and a $500 honorarium and is presented at the SAE Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress & Exhibition.

The deadline to submit nominations is March 1.
