Three Smith Gambrell Russell Attorneys Named to Who’s Who Legal: Insurance & Reinsurance 2024 List

ATLANTA (May 9, 2024) - Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that Partner Joseph T. McCullough IV, Partner Sean T. Keely and Of Counsel Thomas F. Bush have been named to the Who's Who Legal: Insurance & Reinsurance 2024 list.

McCullough is a Partner in the Firm's Chicago office, a member of the Firm's Executive Committee and the Head of the Insurance and Reinsurance Practice. He was previously a Partner with Freeborn & Peters, which combined with SGR in 2023. For more than 35 years, he has devoted his practice to representation of insurance and reinsurance companies in both life & health and the property & casualty matters. He has acted as counsel to insurers and reinsurers in more than 150 arbitration, court, and administrative proceedings across the United States as well as in Bermuda, England, Continental Europe, and Australia, including some of the highest-profile cases in the industry.

Keely is a Partner in the New York office and serves as the New York Section Head. He is also a member of the Firm's Compensation Committee. He was previously a Partner with Freeborn & Peters, which combined with SGR in 2023. Even while a first-year law student, he was involved in reinsurance litigation as an intern with a firm handling reinsurance and insurance insolvency matters. Over 20 years later, he brings that deep industry knowledge to bear, litigating and arbitrating commercial disputes with a particular focus on the (re)insurance industry.

Bush is Of Counsel in the Chicago office. He was a Partner with Freeborn & Peters, which combined with SGR in 2023. He has extensive experience in complex litigation involving antitrust, insurance and reinsurance matters, and has been very actively involved in the representation of significant lawsuits and arbitrations for global reinsurers in disputes arising from large scale losses. He also serves as a commercial arbitrator and is listed on the American Arbitration Association's National Roster of Arbitrators.
