About 1 thousand Russian servicemen will take part in the trilateral tactical exercise of the military contingents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, which will be held from August 5 to 10 in the south of Tajikistan.

The exercise at the Harb-Maydon training ground will be held in three stages. During the first stage, the servicemen will work out preparations for a joint operation of the joint group of troops (forces) of the armed forces of Russia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to destroy terrorist gangs. At the second stage, joint tasks will be carried out to destroy mock bandit groups that have invaded the territory of the union state. At the final stage, the destruction of radical terrorist groups will take place when crossing the state border. At all stages of the exercise, the commanders of the units and the headquarters of the leadership will practice tactical actions with the use of reconnaissance-fire and reconnaissance-strike complexes.

The main objectives of the exercise are to improve practical skills in destroying terrorist gangs when trying to cross the state border, to work out management issues in the course of conducting joint actions to destroy illegal armed formations, as well as to increase the moral and combat qualities of the personnel, psychological stability and physical endurance in the hot climate of the mountain-desert area.

The basis of the Russian military contingent will be the units of the 201st military base, including mountain motorized rifle, tank, artillery units, as well as groups of a special separate special-purpose unit of the Central Military District. In addition, specialists of the NBC protection and mobile electronic warfare groups will be involved in the exercise.

In total, more than 1.5 thousand military personnel will be involved in tactical actions from the three countries and about 300 units of weapons and military equipment will be involved.
