The President of the Government of Spain participates in the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Cervantes Institute, chaired by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain

The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, took part in the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Cervantes Institute, where he highlighted the work that this institution has been carrying out as a fundamental instrument in promoting the teaching, study and use of Spanish throughout the world; a language spoken by 600 million people.

At this meeting in the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, which was presided over by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, and which was also attended by the Ministers for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation; Education and Vocational Training; and Culture and Sport, Sánchez expressed his support for taking advantage of the potential of Spanish and co-official languages as a factor for economic growth and international competitiveness.

During the meeting, the "Ñ" Prize for 2022 was also awarded to the Italian Hispanist Gabriele Morelli, philologist, professor at the University of Bergamo and specialist in the Generation of '27 and the avant-garde.
