Sergey Shvetsov leaves Bank of Russia on 21 March 2022

First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia Sergey Shvetsov has decided to continue his career outside the Bank of Russia and will leave his post on 21 March 2022.

Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina:

'Sergey Shvetsov played a key role in establishing the megaregulator. This was a challenging task as we needed not just to connect the Federal Financial Markets Service to the Bank of Russia, but to create a single culture of governance and uniform approaches to developing financial market sectors. Perfectly knowing how to inspire employees and encourage initiative and changes, Sergey Shvetsov did his best for the bank and non-bank blocks of regulation and supervision to adapt to each other and interact efficiently. Mr Shvetsov coordinated new areas in the Bank of Russia's work, specifically consumer protection, financial inclusion, and financial literacy. He did not only successfully launch new projects and areas of work, but also ensured their consistent performance. Sergey Shvetsov is a visionary able to see any issue from a new perspective, find unconventional solutions, and inspire employees'.
