(New York, NY - April 29, 2024) The NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) will hold a workshop for Minority-and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) on how to compete for contracting opportunities at the Brooklyn site of the City's massive Borough-Based Jails (BBJ) Program. The session is in partnership with the Design-Build team that's been contracted to create the new jail, including Tutor Perini Corp., WDF Inc. and the design firm HOK.

The information session will cover various opportunities available for Phase 1 of the Brooklyn BBJ project, which will cover foundation work at the site. Opportunities in design support include: BIM Coordinator & Specialist, Project Control, Commissioning/Special Inspection, Structural Engineering and Doors and Hardware. Construction support opportunities include: Monitoring (pre/post existing structures), Traffic Controls, PPE Supplier, Small Tools Supplier, Expeditor and Support of Excavation.
