First Look: Five Ten Trailcross GTX Mountain Bike Shoes

Five Ten have released a new model in their super-versatile Trailcross flat pedal shoe range, the all-weather Trailcross GTX.

Designed for all types of mountain bike riding in the worst weather, Trailcross GTX combines Five Ten's sticky stealth rubber for a durable and reliable sole with the practicality of GORE-TEX waterproof membrane to ensure the perfect all-around shoes.

Waterproof

One of the most notable updates to the Trailcross shoe is the GORE-TEX waterproof membrane for all-weather protection. Keeping all water ingress whether that's puddle splashes, torrential rain, or water running down your legs.

Bad weather usually means cold conditions however the GORE-TEX breathable membrane will help keep your feet warm and dry even during the worst of conditions. The GTX hi-top shoes also provide better protection for your feet and ankles with a neoprene hook and loop ankle cuff allowing you to adjust the fit to suit your needs.

Versatility

Originally designed for the bike and hike activity the Trailcross is ideal if you want something off-road or on foot. The lightweight trainer-style shoes are perfect for all-terrain meaning whether you are trail building, hiking to the next trail, or riding off-road you can rely on the GTX to provide all-day comfort.

Added flexibility in the Trailcross GTX shoe thanks to the two cutaways on the midsole of the shoe allow for more bend in the shoe which provides more comfort when walking. EVA foam is used through the midsole which works by absorbing energy and limiting the impact force which improves comfort.

Sole Technology

Using Stealth Phantom rubber, the Trailcross sole has been adapted to ensure comfort across all terrain and conditions. Combining the pedal gripping power of the Stealth sole with the lightweight trainer-like style combines the unbeatable grip, comfortable and confidence in one shoe.

Built to handle the toughest of conditions, the sole has been modified for the Trailcross model to provide more grip at the front and rear of the shoe, providing unbeatable grip. With dotted outsole modified at the toe and heel of the sole to give even more traction off the bike.
