OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM BERGEN COUNTY EXECUTIVE JIM TEDESCO

HACKENSACK, NJ - County Executive Jim Tedesco issues the following statement on the MTA vote to proceed with congestion pricing:

I am incredibly disappointed albeit, not surprised at the MTA's decision today to rush through this harmful congestion tax on commuters and small businesses.

This is just yet another example of continued mismanagement for this long-plagued organization as they proceed with zero regard for their neighbors and without a full environmental study to determine the impact congestion pricing will have on the greater metropolitan region.

I look forward as the County of Bergen joins the State of New Jersey in federal court to have this blatant money grab and attack on working class commuters overturned.

Know that I will continue to fight for all modes of reliable transportation infrastructure which our county residents deserve and many of whom commute into New York City, contributing positively to the greater metropolitan economy every single day.
