ESU Women’s Basketball Announces Recruiting Class of 2022

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University women's basketball head coach revealed her Class of 2022 recruits on Thursday, with three student-athletes set to join the program this fall.

Pennsylvania natives Jasmine Hamilton, Cassie Ksiazek and Maggie Wigoda comprise this year's class. They will be added to an ESU team which has reached the PSAC quarterfinals in each of the past three seasons, including a conference Final Four appearance in 2016-17.

The Warriors had a final record of 16-11 last winter, finishing as the runner-up in the PSAC East regular season standings for a second-straight year with a 14-8 mark in conference games. ESU was among the division's top teams with a roster that included four freshmen, five sophomores, two juniors and just one senior.

Jasmine Hamilton (Center, Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area)

Background: Served as a team captain for her senior season, earning first team All-Pioneer Athletic Conference and second team Mercury All-Area accolades … averaged 12 points per game while playing primarily at forward … three-year letterwinner in basketball … also a member of the track & field team in high school … favorite professional team is the Philadelphia 76ers … favorite pro athlete is Skylar Diggins … majoring in exercise science at ESU.

Cassie Ksiazek (Forward/Center, South Abington Twp., Pa./Abington Heights)

Background: Key contributor for an Abington Heights team which won three-straight District 2 championships from 2016-18 … Lackawanna League Division I First Team All-Star as a senior after averaging 11.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game … Coaches' and School-Board Award recipient … also honored as the team's Defensive MVP … 2015-16 team went 21-6 with District 2 and Lackawanna League Division I titles … 2017-18 team finished with a 19-8 record … lettered in both basketball and volleyball at Abington Heights … was a captain and Lackawanna League All-Star in both sports … student council and transition team member … served as a student mentor … four-year honor roll student … favorite professional team is the New York Yankees … favorite pro athlete is Derek Jeter … majoring in early childhood education at ESU.

Maggie Wigoda (Forward/Center, Minersville, Pa./Minersville Area)

Background: Four-year starter for a Minersville team which went 109-8 during her high school career, including a PIAA Class AA state championship in 2017 (31-0 record) … first team PIAA All-State and All-Area in 2018 … third team PIAA All-State, first team All-Area in 2017 … second team All-Area in 2016 … scored a game-high 22 points in the 2017 state title game (current ESU guard added 14 assists in the win) … District 11 champions in 2015, 2016 and 2017, Schuylkill League champions in 2016 and 2017 … also a four-year starter in softball and soccer … first team All-State softball player in 2018, part of Class AA state-title winning squad in 2017 … holds Schuylkill County record for most shutouts by a soccer goalkeeper (35) … honor roll student … Academic Achievement award recipient … served as Senior Class treasurer and National Honor Society treasurer … favorite professional team is the Los Angeles Lakers … favorite pro athlete is James Worthy … majoring in communication sciences and disorders at ESU.
