Holding an event on water and climate

On 30 April 2024 at the initiative of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN and other international organizations an event related to water and climate was held in Geneva in cooperation with the World Meteorological Organization.

In his speech, the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan Sh. Sheralizoda noted the importance of the preservation and rational use of water resources in the region and drew the participant's attention to the global water initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, which would contribute to the promotion and implementation of the water-related Strategic Development Goals. He also informed the participants about the upcoming 3rd Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference.

During the meeting participants discussed water and climate issues, new ways of cooperation, and important upcoming high-level events on water and climate, including the Conference of the Parties (COP 28, COP 29), the World Water Forum and the Dushanbe Water Conference.
