Granddaughter of Winston Churchill to speak at Campbell event

RALEIGH, North Carolina -- Celia Sandys, the granddaughter of Wilson Churchill, will be the keynote speaker at an event that Campbell University will host Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh. She will speak on 'The Power of Words: The Inspiring Leadership of Winston Churchill.'

The author of five Churchill-centric books, Sandys is a respected authority on the British statesman. She has presented lectures in the United States, Britain, Canada, Japan, and South Africa.

Sandys traveled with her grandfather as a teenager and has met many of the political leaders that worked with him. She serves as a trustee of the Churchill Centre and is the founder of Churchill Leadership Inc.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and registration is required to attend to the 7 p.m. event. Due to space restrictions, the event is at capacity with 300-plus guests, and Campbell has closed registration.
