City of Murrieta Partners to Host Two Community Blood Drives

The City of Murrieta is reminding the community about their upcoming community blood drives in partnership with both the American Red Cross and LifeStream Blood Bank.

The first blood drive will be held on Tuesday, July 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Murrieta Public Library Community Room. There's still time left to make an appointment to donate by signing up online at redcrossblood.org with sponsor code MURRIETACA.

There will be another opportunity on Friday, August 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to donate with LifeStream Blood Bank at the Murrieta Community Center Multipurpose Room. To sign up to donate at this blood drive, please call 1.800.879.4484 or visit lstream.org/tmmobiles.

The City of Murrieta is committed to strengthening the community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations is one way to support those community members in need. Blood drives such as these provide an opportunity for City staff, local businesses, and neighbors to help save lives.

Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross.

According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative, and B negative.
