Technical Seminar at Naval Base Karwar

A seminar on 'Emerging Concepts, Trends and Technologies in Missile Systems' was conducted under the aegis of the Karnataka Naval Area on 23 May 2022 at Naval Base, Karwar. The event was presided over by Vice Admiral Rajaram Swaminathan, Director General Naval Projects, Mumbai and attended by leading scientists in the field from DRDO, ISRO and domain specialists of the Indian Navy. Papers were received from the R and D sector, naval units, DPSUs and private partners on missile development and production in the country. The seminar was coordinated by INS Vajrakosh and aimed at bringing together missile technology ecosphere in the country for candid discussions on the subject, including opportunities and challenges in attaining Aatmanirbharata. The distinguished guests were welcomed at Karwar by Rear Admiral Atul Anand, Flag Officer Commanding Karnataka Naval Area while the Chief Guest, Vice Admiral R Swaminathan delivered the inaugural address reflecting on current challenges and the need for all stakeholders to work towards Aatmanirbharta in the missile sector. A compendium of Technical Papers was also released on the occasion. The seminar was a day-long event and had 14 talks on diverse topics by eminent speakers.
