Cost of Living Event – The Square Camberley, 24 November, 4pm to 7:45pm

On Thursday 24 November, we are partnering with The Square shopping centre in Camberley to bring you a Cost of Living Event, which will provide practical support and information in coping with the challenges you may be facing as food and energy costs rise.

From 4pm-7:45pm, chat with representatives from Surrey Heath Borough Council, Surrey County Council, Citizens Advice Surrey Heath and other organisations to receive advice and find out how to access support, including benefits and grants.

Food items, toiletries and second hand coats will also be available at the event at no cost.

Councillor Sarah Jane Croke, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Safeguarding and Support, Surrey Heath Borough Council said:

"The increasing costs of food and energy are affecting all of us this winter. If you are worried and would like advice on accessing support please do come along to this event to receive guidance and information in an informal and relaxed setting.

There will also be the opportunity to pick up some food, toiletries and coats if you need them as the weather gets colder. All free of charge. I'll be there too and I look forward to seeing you there.

Rhoda Joseph, Centre Manager, The Square said:

"We are really pleased to be hosting this event to support families during the challenging cost of living crisis. Our team are on hand to receive coats and dry food items beforehand at the Customer Service Desk. We'll also be supporting the public to get the advice and items of use at the event!"

How you can get involved

The Square are now collecting non-perishable food and toiletries for distribution at the event, and are also accepting quality coats for adults and children. All items can be dropped off at the Customer Service Desk.

Any coats or items that are not distributed at this event will be donated to The Hope Hub and the Besom Food Bank.
