Back to School, Court in the Community event set Saturday

District 8 Councilmember Chris Nettles will host a Back to School and Court in the Community event Saturday, Aug. 13, at William M. McDonald YMCA, 2701 Moresby St.

Back to School

Free backpacks and school supplies will be handed out from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be food trucks, activities and games for families to enjoy.

City of Fort Worth departments participating include Communications & Public Engagement, Transportation & Public Works, Park and Recreation, Neighborhood Services, City Secretary, Information Technology Services, Code Compliance, Diversity & Inclusion, Municipal Court, Fire, Police and Office of Police Monitor.

Goodwill of North Central Texas and Legal Aid of North West Texas will be present to share information.

Court in the Community

Fort Worth Municipal Court judges will be conducting Court in the Community from 9 to noon.

Anyone who has outstanding citations with the Fort Worth Municipal Court may appear at the Court in the Community event, without fear of arrest for their cases, to resolve their outstanding cases and may be eligible for alternatives such as community service or a reduction in their fine based on ability to pay.
