Wolesi Jirga Summons Transport Minister

The Lower House of Parliament on Monday's plenary session summoned Transport Minister, Qutratullah Zaki due to duty negligence for preventing of recent fire at the country's customs, tasteful recruitment and disrespect to the Wolesi Jirga's approvals as well.

In answer to MPs questions, the transport minister Qutratullah Zaki said, in accordance to un agreement with Ministry of Finance, control and maintaining of the cargo vehicles at the country's customs is responsibility of finance ministry not transport ministry.

At the meantime, Mr. Zaki rejected tasteful hiring at the ministry, urged that he had respected to the Wolesi Jirga's approvals.

After presenting of details by transport minister, a number of MPs called unjustified the summoning of Mr. Zaki and answers of him was called satisfactory, but a few other members of the session of Wolesi Jirga underlined for summon of transport minister based on domestic duties Wolesi Jirga.

But, due lack of complete quorum, the issue delayed that will be discussed in chairmen committee.

Overall in today's session, MPs discussed on plan of health and physical education commission for two weeks lock down to MPs and employees of secretariat general and decision was made that the plenary sessions should be continued by observance of health recommendations.

Overall in today's session, varieties of the country's important issues were discussed.

A number of MPs expressed their concerns over increase of insecurity at the west zone, norther and southern provinces of the country, they emphasized for changes at the security policy.

A number of legislators said, fall of districts into the hands of Taliban and increase of civilian's and military casualties is concern able, they urged for serious attention of security officials in this regard.

Existence of corruption and disputes among the politicians is concern able, they urged for serious unit and coordination among government and politicians, MPs said.

At the meantime, a number of people representatives complained about harassment of Shinwari residents in Takhar province by a local commander, famous to Fateh.

Existence of armed irresponsible people is a serious threat for people and government, so, government should pay serious attention in this regard, MPs said.

Criticizing on continuation of work by supervisors at the government's organs, criticizing on inattention of security officials for release of kidnapped 8 years child in Balkh province, accusation against head of the national television due to disrespect to members of Wolesi Jirga at the religious and cultural affairs commission, criticizing about unknown fate of the teacher training centres in the country, criticizing on assertions of Pakistan foreign minister about Afghanistan, focus on diplomacy with the neighbouring countries, need to address for problems of prisons in Pul-e- Charkhi jail, concerns about shortage of potable water in Nimroze province and warning about release of the Taliban prisoners were the issues discussed in today's session.

The Wolesi Jirga chairman said, the country's security condition is fragile, adding by intensifying of war by Taliban the civilian's casualties have been increased and majority's families were displaced.

Rahmani went on to say, changes and reforms at the security sectors in order to management of war is a serious need, and he asked security officials to pay urgent attention in this regard.

In relation to attack on a commander in Jabul- Seraj of Parwan province and increase of insecurity in the province, Rahmani instructed to security and defensive affairs commissions to probe about the aforementioned issues.

Overall, Rahmani instructed to related commissions to probe about problems of Pul-e- Charkhi prisoners, adding, in accordance to law should be addressed for their requests.

In relation to un-implementing of construction work for second road of Nangarhar and lack of consider for ethnic balance at the appointments in Maidan Wardak province, Rahmani instructed to related commissions to probe about aforementioned issues.

Furthermore in today's session, the Wolesi Jirga Speaker, Mir Rahman Rahmani presented information about his latest trip to Pakistan in attending to PAECO conference.

He went on to say, Afghanistan obtained officially membership of PAECO and third round the conference will be held in Kabul in next year.

'In the sideline of the PAECO conference had visited with Parliament Speakers of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan and foreign minister of Pakistan as well, Rahmani said'.
