Active phase of a bilateral tactical exercise with the WMD tank army took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region

An active phase of a bilateral tactical exercise of a separate tank brigade and the motorized rifle regiment Yampolsky of the Tank Army of the Western Military District (WMD) took place at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

During the active phase of the event, the servicemen bilaterally worked out the conduct of the defence and the transition to the counterattack. Servicemen destroyed more than 50 units of armored vehicles of a mock enemy from the 125-mm guns of the T-72B3 and T-80BV tanks. Tank crews operated together with motorized rifle units. Motorized riflemen fired at the enemy's manpower from small arms and automatic 30-mm cannons of BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles.

The artillery units of the tank brigade fired from self-propelled howitzers 'Msta-S'.152-mm high-explosive fragmentation ammunition inflicted great damage on the advancing manpower and lightly armored vehicles of a mock enemy.

In total, more than 1000 military personnel and over 300 units of weapons, military and special equipment are involved in the exercise. The event takes place within the framework of control classes based on the results of the winter training period.
