Registration for City of Columbia's annual Celebration of the Arts fundraiser now open

(COLUMBIA, MO)-

The City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs presents the annual Celebration of the Arts fundraiser August 31, 2022 at Jesse Auditorium. The event is hosted by Lili Vianello and John Shrum and supports the Columbia Arts Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Central Missouri. As an endowment, the fund provides perpetual support for arts organizations in Columbia.

"Growing the fund will support more arts programs and events in Columbia, expanding access and appreciation," said Sarah Dresser, manager of the City's Office of Cultural Affairs. "We are thrilled to have Lili and John continue their longtime support of the arts by hosting this year's event."

The event will highlight City-funded arts agencies and feature the unveiling of the annual City of Columbia Commemorative Poster. This year's poster features artwork by local artist Sarah Nguyen. Additionally, the City will recognize an individual for their continued and significant support of the arts through their work with a City-funded nonprofit arts organization. The public is invited to attend this special event that celebrates the arts. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with representatives from City-funded arts organizations and receive a complimentary signed poster.

The event is from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. with the award presentation at 7:30 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit CoMo.gov/Arts or contact the City's Office of Cultural Affairs at 573.874.7512.
